Fffffff. Well I have to say this REALLY made my day! After looking over a few tags some days ago I WAS wondering if I was still doing it right, and I'm REALLY glad I am. Man, thanks a lot for this!

But yesh, to be honest I guess at this point I don't even NOTICE I'm doing all of those things. It was a very very long and tedious journey of doing research on Luffy and trying to figure out his mannerisms to why he does this and that. But one thing that remained consistent about me is that I'm always trying to IMPROVE his muse so maybe that is why it seems like I'm getting a little better at some things? Even if I don't canon-review all that much, reading the new manga chapters every week really helps keeps his voice fresh in my head enough so that it doesn't fade easily. And thus I'm able to make observations about what I can improve on it and say "Okay, i need a little more of this and not so much that." How I play him even say six months ago is probably just a liiittle different than how I play him now. It takes constant improvement to consciously put his reasoning and thoughts into your head and write them out like second nature. Starting out with a Luffy muse in Luceti I feel definitely improved my RPing ability for not only the Strawhat but every single other character I get my hands on as well.

As far as the being burned out thing though. Yes. This was definitely a problem with me. After I finally got my Luffy muse in order my RPing with him was fine, but. I got burned out like every two or three months. And I needed to hiatus for at least a month or so to get my energy back. So there would be this burst of tags and activity and then bam done. This was hindering me because I wanted Luffy to get new interesting CR, I WANTED to keep up with the cast, but I couldn't do it for an extended period of time without stressing and finally burning myself out in the end.

It was only recently that after nearly just dropping from Luceti as a whole that I finally realized what was going on and why that was happening; I was spending too much time on my tags. There's nothing wrong with that mind you. Some tags require a little extra time to word properly and etc. But after so many tags small minutes start to build up. Let's say you have twenty tags. If you spend two minutes on each of them that's forty minutes right? Not so bad. Now let's say you spend five minutes on each one. That's one-hundred minutes. That's an hour difference. And if you want to tag everyone a second time? It's doubled. So that's eighty minutes vs. two-hundred minutes.

The reason I spent so much time on them was because I was playing Luffy you know. The main protag of a pretty beefy OP cast. I wanted to make sure my tags were fun to reply to and most if not all my threads were interesting. I wanted to keep him as IC as possible, and I didn't want to start to slip or mess up because I wasn't paying attention. I know the cast would always compliment and say they enjoy RPing with my Luffy so I wanted to make sure I wasn't letting anyone down. The problem was that spending that five or ten extra minutes on response sometimes just burned me out in the long run. The technique probably worked for the most part but it was a double-edged sword. I couldn't tag this entry because I was busy with these tags, or I couldn't do this because I was still busy with that. It also led to a lot of dropped threads on my part.

So when I came back for the billionth time I kind of changed the way I played Luffy as well as my other characters a bit. But especially Luffy because I realized recently that sometimes people just want... more Luffy. They want to be able to tag him for more than a couple comments without me dropping the thread. They want to have him reply to their entries more, so it isn't a one way street. So recently I've focus a little more on speed. How do I keep the same quality of tags but speed things up a little more so I'm more able to keep up with things for a longer stretch of time. I still don't have the stamina to tag in gigantic bursts. Usually it's a tag or two each day per thread but the main thing is I'm trying to keep them going. I'm hoping to get much better at doing this sort of new tagging technique in the future and improve myself as an RPer in the coming weeks/months!

AND JUST SO YOU KNOW, I don't think your quality has dropped at all; I think it's actually increased, so spending a little less time has definitely not been a detriment, it's been awesome. Like I definitely get wanting to think tags over and sometimes I do both (underthink or overthink) but with Luffy I think you're reaching a point where you can just go with your gut instinct and it'll be awesome. So don't worry! I've noticed, but it's been *GOOD* \o/

And the seastone grill thread has me, Erin, and Roxy constantly giggling. JSYK
