[Well after everything that has been happening as of late, Luffy has been thinking. A lot. Well maybe not a LOT LOT cause thinking too much would give him a fever, but ya know. A moderate amount. And while he wants to get stronger to protect everyone and free everyone from this prison, he can’t seem to do that without his friends getting hurt, or beat up. He can’t possibly watch all of them all the time. And if he could, he couldn't train.

Normally what he would do is just beat up the main bad guy, but here there are a lot of main bad guys. And they can teleport away. He can't kick their asses if they do that. While a good piece of his friends are fighters, the rest just kinda aren't. Or altleast not strong enough to fight against any of the opponents that he's faced here. He flips open his journal and starts to make an entry.

Oh, Luffy is on top of Community Building 6 too by the way. No particular reason, aside from the fact that it's not a lot of stuff there and not too many buildings and all that. Luffy can't think at all with distractions.]

If that's what it takes. It doesn't mean you should stop watching over them completely, but it's important to let them have a say in their own lives.

At the very least, they'll be happy knowing that you trust them with their lives...and yours.

...And then what? Will you go back to forcing your friends to watch as you tear yourself apart for them? Or will you let them take on some of the weight?

No. I won't go back to that. But I need to get stronger. So if I find the really strong guys that's going after them, I can beat them quickly before they teleport away. I've been getting good at it but a ninja is more sneaky than a wolf-lion. So if I can be both, I can definitely do it.

[Leo happens to live in C6. He closes his journal, slides one of the windows open, then swings up the side and begins climbing. As soon as he reaches the top he spots Luffy sitting right there, and crosses his arms in silence for a few moments. Does Luffy have ninja-vision?]

[Leonardo waits a little longer, and then Luffy may hear the sharp hiss of metal as one of his swords is pulled from his hilt. He points the tip at the nape of the rubber man's neck, but he's several feet away, and there's a smile in his voice when he speaks.]

Lesson one. The enemy can appear from anywhere. Be ready.

Being alert isn't always enough; it doesn't mean anything if you aren't prepared to fight or make a retreat. I'm not telling you that you have to be paranoid twenty-four-seven, but you need to train yourself to realize that you're always in danger of being assaulted.

For example - if I had actually attacked you right now, I might have been able to wound you before you were able to fight back. One moment of disorientation is all a preemptive attacker needs to gain the upper hand; remember that.

Well...staying hidden is all about blending in, and ninjas usually wear masks to make them harder to see against the darkness. If you're going to make an attack at night, then I...I don't see why not.
