His fake beard flowing gently in the wind even though there is no wind present and he grips his staff tightly.]

I don't really know. But whoever eats one gets powers. The problem is that you'll never be able to swim again though, so it's kind of annoying sometimes.

Because you become a hammer in deep water. It's the bad thing about eating them. They also taste REALLY bad so never try one if you see it in the shop.

Side effects to being a NEXT? Not that I know of... [Unless being discriminated against as a result counts as a side effect.] I guess I'll be careful not to eat any Devil Fruits, then.
