[Well after everything that has been happening as of late, Luffy has been thinking. A lot. Well maybe not a LOT LOT cause thinking too much would give him a fever, but ya know. A moderate amount. And while he wants to get stronger to protect everyone and free everyone from this prison, he can’t seem to do that without his friends getting hurt, or beat up. He can’t possibly watch all of them all the time. And if he could, he couldn't train.

Normally what he would do is just beat up the main bad guy, but here there are a lot of main bad guys. And they can teleport away. He can't kick their asses if they do that. While a good piece of his friends are fighters, the rest just kinda aren't. Or altleast not strong enough to fight against any of the opponents that he's faced here. He flips open his journal and starts to make an entry.

Oh, Luffy is on top of Community Building 6 too by the way. No particular reason, aside from the fact that it's not a lot of stuff there and not too many buildings and all that. Luffy can't think at all with distractions.]

[Oh this is just Luffy's stubbornness. He knows he needs his nakama to get anywhere, but he doesn't QUITE get the metaphor yet. =(]

And do you expect your friends to stand there and watch as you struggle beneath it? If you're as important to them as they are to you, they're going to try and help you carry that burden. Trying to stop them will only make them resent you.

I understand the need to protect those you care about...but don't underestimate their strength, either. Don't end up making them protect you because you tried too hard to do everything.

You need to work together. All as one team.

So... you think all of us need to get stronger?

If that's what it takes. It doesn't mean you should stop watching over them completely, but it's important to let them have a say in their own lives.

At the very least, they'll be happy knowing that you trust them with their lives...and yours.

Why not? If I'm faster I can watch everyone better.

...And then what? Will you go back to forcing your friends to watch as you tear yourself apart for them? Or will you let them take on some of the weight?

No. I won't go back to that. But I need to get stronger. So if I find the really strong guys that's going after them, I can beat them quickly before they teleport away. I've been getting good at it but a ninja is more sneaky than a wolf-lion. So if I can be both, I can definitely do it.

[Leo happens to live in C6. He closes his journal, slides one of the windows open, then swings up the side and begins climbing. As soon as he reaches the top he spots Luffy sitting right there, and crosses his arms in silence for a few moments. Does Luffy have ninja-vision?]

[Leonardo waits a little longer, and then Luffy may hear the sharp hiss of metal as one of his swords is pulled from his hilt. He points the tip at the nape of the rubber man's neck, but he's several feet away, and there's a smile in his voice when he speaks.]

Lesson one. The enemy can appear from anywhere. Be ready.
